CATZ Opens Facility at Acton Indoor Sports

Acton, Massachusetts (March 1, 2005):  CATZ is pleased to announce the opening of a new sports performance training center at Acton Indoor Sports in Acton, Massachusetts. With the opening of this center, the fourth CATZ facility in Greater Boston, athletes in the Metrowest Area will have the opportunity to improve their speed, strength and agility utilizing the proven CATZ training methodology.

The CATZ training center will include a dedicated, fully-equipped strength and agility training area. Athletes will also have access to the indoor and outdoor fields for their training. The combination of this facility with a proven training program and a team of CATZ-certified coaches will enable athletes to experience improvements in speed, power, agility and strength while also reducing the likelihood of injury.

“We are thrilled to have CATZ as part of our programs at Acton Indoor Sports,” stated Tom McLaughlin, Managing Partner, “With CATZ, our athlete=s will have the benefit of a proven, sports-specific training program delivered by a team of certified and experienced coaches.”

David Jack, will be the General Manager of the CATZ facility in Acton. Jack has extensive experience in the health and fitness industry. His experience includes developing speed, strength and wellness programs for various professional teams, athletes, organizations and professional player associations including NFL, MLB, IMG (International Management Group), the Boston Red Sox and the New England Revolution. In addition, Jack has created and delivered a curriculum for school age students know as “Sports and Life,” teaching kids to be leaders in their community, live to their potential, and make healthy, positive decisions to succeed in sports and life.

Rob Tanguay, CSCS, will be the Director of Performance Training in Acton. Prior to joining CATZ, Tanguay was employed as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant at the University of Tennessee, where he worked with the football and baseball team. Prior to that, Tanguay was Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Dartmouth College, with responsibility for the football, basketball, ice hockey, field hockey and lacrosse training programs. Tanguay’s athletes have gone on to play in the NFL, Major League Baseball and NHL. He also possesses significant experience coaching at the youth level, where he has coached athletes who have gone on to play major college soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and football. Tanguay received his BS in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee.
